VOTIVE CANDLES

Votive candles are special candles cylindrical in shape and about 6 cm in height and 4 cm in diameter . Votive candles are made of paraffin or wax and there are different types of paraffin with different melting point. In ancient days these candles are used to vow before Jesus in churches and as a symbol of bow the candles were lit up. Now a day also this tradition is still in use in many areas.
Votive candles are used in many occasions for their quality. These can be used to illuminate a room, a party area, a dinning table. A votive candle can also be used in the church as memorial card and devotional candle. It has nothing to left behind after burning. So it is environment friendly also and does not become a hurdle in the celebration. Generally a candle can burn 10-15 hours. Votive candles are scentless, but in special occasion you can arrange a set of scented candles also. They can be used in a weeding, birthday, marriage anniversary, special personal day like the day when you got selected for the job etc.
The candles come in red, white, ivory and yellow in colors. There are votive holders (small jars) made of glass which holds the candles on display and use. This sort of candles are available in departmental or grocery shops. You can get more colors in specfic festive seasons.
